| It's hot now: 5-25-00
Ah, it is really starting to feel like summer now. The cicadas haven't started buzzing yet, but the fireflies are said to be out. I hope to go see some one of these evenings, as we don't have fireflies in San Diego... it would be a rare opportunity for me. The weather has gotten pretty hot, and the students are wearing their summer uniforms. All the schools have a transition period of about two weeks, when the students have a choice of whether to wear the winter uniform or summer uniform. More and more of them are showing up in their short-sleeved, light coloured shirts and blouses now. A few of them are still wearing the dark coloured, heavy tops of the winter uniform, but I can't see how they can stand it. I am about ready to pack up my winter clothes and send them all home, myself. Well, a giggly group of girls is standing in the hall practicing their English and waving at me, so that's my cue to go be a cute gaijin. This will have to be a short entry- that's all for now! |
