| Catching up a little:
4-28-00
Gee, it's really been a while since I last wrote in this journal! I am embarassed at how long it's taken me to get around to writing. April has been a busy month. First, my parents came at the end of March and we traveled through Japan together. It was great, we saw pretty much everything I had wanted to see! It was a terrific spring break. After the break ended, I've pretty much been busy with work and such. This month has gone by so quickly... there are several things I want to write about, so I suppose I will have to make some backlog entries later... I am not about to catch up on the whole month right now. It's 1 am, and the only thing keeping me up is a mug of green tea! I will go to bed in a bit. I had a really fun evening... around 8 pm, my supervisor randomly called me up and asked if Peter and I wanted to go to karaoke. We were a bit mystified, but we never turn down an invitation to karaoke, so we went. Turned out it was the farewell party for a nice lady who was temping in the board of education office, so all our co-workers were there. It was the first time I went to karaoke with all the people in the office, and they had heard rumors that I'm some kind of great karaoke singer- I think I have been overhyped, eh heh heh. Anyway, they got me to sing my repetoire of Morning Musume songs. It was fun. I sang the most recent one, "Koi no Dance Site" with one of my co-workers who is probably around my age, but she and I hardly ever get a chance to talk... so I was happy that we got to sing karaoke together, I felt it was sort of a bonding experience :) The song we sang is extremely silly, involving some karate-style grunts: "Ooh! Hah!" So it was pretty fun to perform. Next week is Golden Week, which is comprised of three national holidays in a row- so it's not really a WEEK, is it? But anyway, it's a good opportunity to do some travel, so I'm going to China for four days. Many people travel during this time, so the prices are high, but I figure... when am I going to get another chance to see China anytime soon? So I'm going! I am nervous about the language and things like that, but on the other hand, I am really looking forward to the food. Mmmm, real Chinese food! I can't wait. So, I guess that's about it for now... time for bed! |
